Symposium - History

 

The Materia Symposium was created by a group of latin-american researchers who are also responsible for the journal Revista Materia and for the Itinerant School of Materials. The realization sequence includes: Valparaíso, Chile (I:1995); Bariloche, Argentina (II:1996 and VIII:2003); Montevideo, Uruguay (III:1997); Caracas, Venezuela (IV:1998); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (V:2000); Mexico City, Mexico (VI:2001); Santiago, Chile (VII:2002); Arequipa, Peru (IX:2004); Cartagena de índias, Colombia (X:2005); Morelia, Mexico (XI:2007); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (XII: 2010). In its thirteenth version the Materia Symposium will take place again in Argentina, at Santa Fe city. During this meeting the main issue will be about nanostructured materials and, also, the symposium will include a Summer School about nanostructured porous materials.
