Countryside around Santa Fe

Two waves of European immigrants arrived to Santa Fe Province, the 1st during the second half of the XIX century, and the 2nd before and after World War II. A large proportion of them settled in Las Colonias and Castellanos counties. Located few minutes away from Santa Fe these rural towns still preserve the cultural heritage of their Swiss and Italian ancestors. Take the time to enjoy hiking, horse riding or shopping beautifully crafted silver and leather goods. Stop by San Carlos to see glassblowing artisans in action and ancient bell making techniques.

San José Palace - Entre Ríos

The Palace San José belonged to General Justo José de Urquiza, elected governor of Entre Ríos State in 1841. Urquiza later rebelled against Buenos Aires ruler General Juan Manuel de Rosas, defeating him at the battle of Caseros in 1853. Dive into Argentina turmoil history by visiting this fantastic complex of buildings surrounded with sumptuous gardens, originally designed by the Italian architect Dellepiane, and later finished by the Fossatti brothers.

El Palmar National Park

A truly spectacular place characterized by rolling grassland and the only remaining plantation of "yatay" palms in the world. The park offers a glimpse of what the area looked like before farming, forestry and cattle razing altered the ecology of native yatay-palm savannas in the 19th century. Experience the sensation of being in another geological era with palms 300 years old or more in age. This is one of the finest bird-watching spots in Argentina.
