To ease the job seeking process of our students and graduates is one of the biggest challenges of Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL). It is a priority to join them in this transition and to provide tools for a better way to cope with the ‘job’ of looking for an actual job.
Because of that, UNL, through the First Job Program from the Technology Transfer Office, offers assessment and training to improve employability levels among young people..
To work on that, the institution has four working lines: internships, employability courses, management of the Job Portal and organization of the Employability and Postgraduate Exhibition.
Furthermore, partnerships between the private and public sector are being implemented, assuming that with everyone’s contribution the levels of employability can increase. “To offer the accurate tools for the first job seeking process is important because it allows, on one hand, students to have pre-professuibak experience and, on the other hand, companies and institutions to incorporate valuable knowledge”. “This is a win-win experience; every part involved get some benefit by improving the education of our future graduates”, explained Javier Lottersberger, Technology Transfer Secretary.
University as a strategic partner
The management of job searchs and internship offers has to happen in an integrative way, and that is why the First Job Program works in sinergy with every academic unit of UNL, strenghtenning the current resources and the sense of togetherness.
In this sense, the authorities of the faculties held several meetings in order to present the wide variety of services that UNL has to offer and making sure that every graduate profile has it’s place in the employment market.
The University builds itself as a strategic partner to students and graduates in the process of seeking for their first working opportunities, getting into an intership, starting a business or a research.
For this reason, it works hard into providing professional mentoring and trainerships, as well as generating formal employment opportunities. In 2021, we are glad to highlight that more than 415 students participated in professional internships in 135 private companies and 284 public entities (governmental and non governmental) of the region.
The employment website: a growing resource
It is important to improve the employability among young people, in order to help them being ready to the labour insertion process and to guarantee the access to their very first formal experience.
That being said, UNL has a Employment Website of free intermediation, that enable students and graduates to get access to different job applications according their personal interests and skills. What is more, it offers companies and institutions a reliable resource in where to find young quallified professionals.
In the last years, appliances possibilities have increased; students of long distance careers can also be a part of this portal, so the employment opportunities are extended to professionals from a diversity of careers and places of origin. Around 30 careers and 7.600 students and graduates that for a matter of their residence place or time restrictions choose to study under the long distance modality.
From it’s early stage, this portal has more tan 9.300 users registered from UNL’s units. During year 2021, 263 job offers from different companies, organizations and consulting firms were posted, and there are more than 600 enterprises registered.
To get access, users must go to www.unl.edu.ar/test/wp-unl/empleo and register. Companies can receive assessment in human resources management and rely on UNL’s support.
