These research institutes, jointly established by UNL and Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET- National Scientific and Technical Research Council), aim at conducting collaborative research across a range of disciplinary areas, training human resources, and transferring research results to the socio-productive sector.

The National Institute of Limnology studies inland aquatic ecosystems in Argentina, especially in the Parana River and its basin, as well as vertebrate and invertebrate diversity patterns. Instituto de Desarrollo Tecnológico para la Industria Química (INTEC)
The Institute for the Development of Technology aimed at the Chemical Industry has been set up to conduct basic and applied research, to foster innovation and technology transfer and to train first-rate professionals in the following areas: Chemical Engineering, Food and Biotechnology, Polymers and Materials, Sustainable Chemistry and Fine Chemistry, Environmental Management and Engineering, Energy, Industrial Engineering, and Logistics. Instituto de Ciencias Veterinarias del Litoral (ICIVET-Litoral)
The Veterinary Sciences Institute develops and produces basic and applied knowledge in the field of veterinary sciences, particularly related to veterinary medicine, epidemiology, problems related to agrifood supply chains, and fauna conservation, among others. The Signals, Systems and Computational Intelligence Institute conducts research into machine learning, signal and image processing, and complex systems. It develops innovative technologies aimed at enhancing healthcare, bioinformatics, precision farming, autonomous systems and human-computer interface, among others.
